Join us for our first hard hike of the season as we summit Grandeur Peak via Millcreek Canyon on President’s Day

This is a challenging winter hike with sustained elevation gain, steep sections, and potentially icy or snow-packed trail conditions. This outing is intended for those who are confident in their fitness, comfortable hiking uphill for extended periods, and prepared for winter mountain conditions.

This hike is about pushing ourselves safely, supporting one another, and earning the summit together.

Hike Details

  • Distance: ~6 miles round trip

  • Elevation Gain: ~2,600 ft

  • Pace: Steady and intentional (not a casual social hike)

  • Summit Goal: Weather and trail conditions permitting

This hike is not beginner-friendly and requires preparation.

You should be able to:

  • Hike uphill continuously for long stretches

  • Navigate snowy or icy terrain

  • Manage exposure to cold, wind, and winter conditions

  • Carry appropriate winter gear

🧊 Required Gear

All participants must bring:

  • Traction (microspikes or similar)

  • Waterproof hiking boots

  • Warm winter layers (including hat & gloves)

  • Water (insulated recommended)

  • Snacks / fuel

  • Backpack

❗ Participants without required gear may be asked not to participate for safety reasons.

All participants must have a completed Girls Gone Hiking Utah liability waiver on file prior to attending.
