Join us for a Millcreek Canyon Walk on Sunday, February 15 🌲❄️

🕘 Start Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Meet Time: 8:45 AM (important for parking!)
📌 Meeting Point: Winter Gate at Millcreek Canyon

For those unfamiliar: drive all the way up Millcreek Canyon until you reach the Winter Gate, where the road is closed for winter recreation.

Dogs allowed — It is off-leash day for our furry friends :)

🚗 Parking Notes:
Parking is limited and fills up quickly before road parking opens, which is why we’re meeting a bit earlier to allow everyone time to find a spot.

💵 Canyon Fee:

  • $5 per car

  • Free if you have a Millcreek Canyon annual pass

This will be a relaxed winter walk and a great option if you’re looking for something lower-key while still getting outside. We will walk roughly 4-5 miles out-and-back. Can’t wait to see you there 🤍

Join us for our first hard hike of the season as we summit Grandeur Peak via Millcreek Canyon on President’s Day

This is a challenging winter hike with sustained elevation gain, steep sections, and potentially icy or snow-packed trail conditions. This outing is intended for those who are confident in their fitness, comfortable hiking uphill for extended periods, and prepared for winter mountain conditions.

This hike is about pushing ourselves safely, supporting one another, and earning the summit together.

Hike Details

  • Distance: ~6 miles round trip

  • Elevation Gain: ~2,600 ft

  • Pace: Steady and intentional (not a casual social hike)

  • Summit Goal: Weather and trail conditions permitting

This hike is not beginner-friendly and requires preparation.

You should be able to:

  • Hike uphill continuously for long stretches

  • Navigate snowy or icy terrain

  • Manage exposure to cold, wind, and winter conditions

  • Carry appropriate winter gear

  • Waterproof hiking boots

  • Warm winter layers (including hat & gloves)

  • Event details such as meeting location, timing, and final notes will be sent via email to registered participants prior to the event. Please check your spam or promotions folder if you don’t see an email.

  • Carpooling may be coordinated for select events depending on location and parking availability. If carpooling is offered, instructions will be shared via email.

  • Each event listing will outline what to bring. In general, participants should come prepared with appropriate clothing, footwear, water, and any necessary gear for the activity.

  • No. If an event requires prior experience or specialized skills, it will be clearly noted in the event description.

  • Absolutely! Each participant must reserve their own spot through the website so we can accurately manage group sizes.

  • If your plans change, please cancel your RSVP as soon as possible so another participant can join. This helps keep the community fair and accessible.

  • Safety is our top priority. Events may be modified, relocated, or canceled due to weather or trail conditions. Any changes will be communicated via email.

  • Girls Gone Hiking Utah, LLC is a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful community. We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, bullying, intimidation, or behavior that makes others feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
