Mt. Olympus is one of Salt Lake’s most iconic and rewarding summits. This challenging hike gains over 4,000 feet of elevation in just under 3.5 miles, making it a true test of endurance, grit, and determination. The trail wastes no time getting steep, climbing through forested switchbacks before opening up to incredible views of the Wasatch Front.

The final push to the summit features a short scramble that leads you to the famous twin peaks and sweeping 360° views over the Salt Lake Valley. Reaching the top is a moment you won’t forget, and one that makes every step of the climb worth it.

This hike is part of our Summit Series, designed to progressively challenge ourselves on some of Utah’s most rewarding peaks as we build strength and confidence together.

What to Expect:

  • Steep and sustained climbing

  • Approximately 7 miles round trip

  • ~4,200 ft elevation gain

  • Stunning summit views of the valley and surrounding peaks

  • A supportive group pushing toward the top together

This is a strenuous hike and participants should come prepared with proper footwear, layers, water, fuel, and traction if conditions require it.

More details including meeting location, start time, weather considerations, and gear recommendations will be sent out the week of the event, so be sure to keep an eye on your inbox.
